Portlaoise Try-athlon 2012 takes place on 21 April. Entries are now open.

In order to be eligable to race, in addition to the race fee, each competitor must be in possision of a Triathlon Ireland Licence.  These can be purchased from Triathlon Ireland at www.triathlonireland.com.

To help with your choice of licence, here is a brief description of what various licences will offer each triathlete:

One Day Licence - €15:  This is eligable for one race only.

Full Triathlon Ireland Licence - €53:  This is eligable for the full calendar year (Jan - Dec).  It covers each athlete for insurance for all Triathlons, Duathlons, Aquathons and Paratriathlons that they enter.  If you think you may enter more than 3 races in the year, then this is the licence for you.

Associate Licence - €18:  This is a non racing licence but it does allow an individual to train in and be a member of a Triathlon club.

Student Licence - €18:  This will be required from triathletes in the age category of 16 years to 19 years.

Junior licence/Membership - €1:  This will be required from triathletes in the age category of 9 years to 15 years.

We actively encourage Juniors to become members of Triathlon Ireland.  At a cost of €1, it is worth all 100cents!!
